All of our products began life with simple recipes like the ones you'll find here. Soap recipes evolve quite naturally as you catch the bug and experiment! Some experiments turn out better than you could ever have hoped for, others not so well. Sometimes you stumble upon your favourite soap recipes quite by chance as a colour doesn't behave the way you expected it to (beetroot powder comes to mind!) or a particular blend of fragrance or essential oils combine perfectly for a unique fragrance.

Don't be afraid to experiment with colours, fragrances and botanicals but be sure to make detailed notes of the quantities of ingredients used and the methodologies you employ. It's fine to make mistakes, and, believe it or not, you are more likely to advance your knowledge through mistakes and learning from them rather than turning out 'safe' batches using the same old recipes.
