My favorite homemade soap is milk and honey. Honey is moisturizing, clarifying, soothing, and naturally antibacterial. Love is great for treating acne, aging, and brightening the complexion. We could all benefit from a little anti-aging and skin brightening.
How to make milk and honey soap:
The soaps will take a little longer to firm up, but the actual “work” is done in less than 10 minutes. The soaps will take longer to harden, but they can be made in under 10 minutes.

Make your Milk and Honey Soap in 10 Minutes.
Melt the soap in increments of 20-30 seconds, stirring well after each microwave session. Melt the soap in increments of 20-30 seconds, mixing thoroughly after each microwave session to ensure it is fully melted.
Add three tablespoons honey to the soap and add a few drops of yellow soap colorant when it is melted. I added one drop of red soap colorant to make my soap look more golden.
Pour the soap into the honeycomb mold and let it cool. The cooling process may take 30 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on the temperature and humidity.
Remove the soap from the silicone mold when it is cool and firm.
These DIY honey and milk soaps are a great homemade gift for family, friends, teachers, coaches, and neighbors. These soaps are great for craft fairs and fundraisers!

Here are some FAQs about melt-and-pour soaps.
Do MELT and POUR SOAPS need to be cured?
No! Your melt-and-pour soaps are ready for use as soon as they have cooled down and become hard.
How long does homemade soap last?
The shelf life of melt-and-pour soap bases is two years. The shelf life of finished soaps depends on what you add to them. Simple soaps with color and fragrance additions will last for at least two years. Soaps that contain botanicals or other fresh ingredients have a shorter shelf-life.
Most soaps can last for much longer than the two-year shelf life. However, the color and fragrance may fade over time, and the soaps could begin to lose moisture.
Honey has a very long shelf life, so these soaps will last at least two to three years when properly stored and wrapped!
HOW DO You Wrap/Package/Store Homemade Soap?
Wrap and package melt and pour soaps as soon as possible after they are made. Wrap the soaps in plastic wrap or place them in a zipper bag. Store them in an area that is cool and dry. You can shrink-wrap soaps using shrink plastic with a heat gun, but you must be very careful not to melt the soap.
Why does soap melt and sweat? How can I prevent it?
Many different soap bases contain glycerin. Glycerin attracts moisture, which is great for moisturizing the skin. Glycerin draws moisture from the air, which appears as tiny beads of “dew” or “sweat” on the soap’s surface. This is NOT moisture released by the soap!
Wrap your melt-and-pour soaps promptly and store them correctly to prevent them from sweating.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY SOAP BUBBLES?
Spraying your soap surface with Isopropyl Alcohol (91% or higher) can help break surface tension and release trapped air bubbles.
COULD I USE A DIFFERENT SOAP BASE TYPE?
You bet! Most likely. We have found that 98 percent of our melt-and-pour recipes can be made using alternative soap bases. Shea butter, coconut milk, goat’s milk, glycerin, and other commands are interchangeable. They will not affect the success of your finished product.
WHAT ELSE COULD I ADD TO MY SOAP
You can customize homemade soaps in SO many ways! Try adding different kinds of butter, essential oils (shea and cocoa butter are great options), or butter. Natural colors, botanicals, and more can be added to your soap! Add liquid oils like coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or olive to your soap for extra skin-nourishing properties. Use only a little bit so as not to make it too soft.
