Our products are offered for sale to the UK, European Union member states and the USA only. We regret we do not deliver to countries outside of these areas.You can purchase products from our online shop. Please allow 1-2 days for your order to be processed and a further 2-3 days for shipping.All prices quoted on this website or at our eBay shop are ex delivery which is chargeable at cost according to the weight and urgency of your purchase. We tend to use Royal Mail for smaller orders since this is usually the most cost effective service for our customers. The prices quoted online do not constitute an offer and may be amended at anytime at our discretion.
The Bakewell Soap Company operates as a partnership, VAT is therefore not applicable on any of our products currently.All purchases are shipped once funds have cleared our account.Our preferred payment method for online transactions is PayPal which affords both us and you the best security for online transactions (in our opinion) and also offers a high degree of protection for online buyers who have a PayPal account. However, you do not need to have a PayPal account to buy from us. PayPal supports all major credit and debit cards whether you have an account with them or not.
Returns Policy
By law, we are required (and happy) to offer a 7 day returns policy. Any claim that goods have been delivered damaged, or are not of the correct quality according to their description must be notified by the customer to the company in writing within 7 working days of receipt of the goodsProvided that the goods have been stored correctly, we will offer a full refund or exchange of the goods to a similar value of the original order, if preferred.Correct storage is the customer’s responsibility. Advice on correct storage is provided upon on request.It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that products are appropriately used. All representations, warranties, conditions or terms relating to fitness for purposes, are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law and the company accepts no liability. While we provide, by law, appropriate warnings for certain products with known therapeutic side-effects for certain groups of people (for example, it is recommended that expectant mothers do not use products containing certain essential oils) customers should satisfy themselves as to the suitablity of products for themselves or on behalf of others before purchase. We accept no responsibility for wrongful purchase.
Shipping
We currently apply a special offer fixed shipping charge of £2.95 for UK mainland orders (see below). For Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Highlands & Islands, European Union and United States all orders are shipped tracked & signed for which carries a postal surcharge payable in addition. For non UK mainland orders we will notify you of the excess shipping charges which are payable prior to the order being shipped. Please contact us on for more details. We regret that we do not currently sell to countries outside of these areas.To keep delivery costs as low as possible, for UK mainland orders we normally use Royal Mail packet delivery sevice which normally takes 3 days to be delivered. We also use other mainstream couriers for more urgent orders. If you require next day delivery or something sooner than 3 days please call us on to let us know. All shipping is charged at cost price according to order weight.From time to time the Royal Mail amends its pricing schedules. We reserve the right to amend shipping charges without notice. Customers will be notified of any change to delivery charges before their order is accepted.
International Shipping Charges
Paypal enables us to provide automatic postage calculations for the UK, however, automatic postage calculations do not extend to international destinations. For all non-uk orders we use a ‘signed for’ service from the Royal Mail. In the majority of cases this service carries a surcharge dependent upon order weight and country of destination.We will notify you via email of any additional delivery charges before your order is processed and how to pay the additional premium.
Your Privacy
You do not need to provide any personal information to browse this website. Should you decide to buy any of our products or subscribe to our newsletter or other marketing initiatives we do collect a small amount of information specifically for the purpose. The Bakewell Soap Company does not sell or pass on such information to any third parties and warrants it will not pass on such information except, in the unlikely event we are required to by law.Anyone leaving their personal information with us may, by written request, ask to see a copy of the information held subject to the provision of valid identification.Anyone leaving their personal information with us may, by written request, ask for their information to be deleted from our database.Subscribers to our newsletter can unsubscribe by clicking on the link provided at the bottom of each newsletter at anytime.
Quality Control
The Bakewell Soap Company holds valid assessments for the products it makes and sells in accordance with Cosmetics Safety Regulations 2004 compliance (this link provides more details on the regulations we are required to satisfy by law).To maintain good manufacturing practices and quality control we hold on file a record of all product batches manufactured including the methodology employed and data on raw materials used.
Animal Testing
The Bakewell Soap Company does not test any of its products on animals, and does not use ingredients that are tested on animals. All of our suppliers are required to supply us with their own animal testing policies to ensure that our supply chain meets with current EU legislation on animal testing.
